Alan Heatherington, Music Director and Conductor The season began with two well-received performances of Rheinberger's Abendlied and Cantus Missae and Rachmaninoff's Vespers. The holiday concerts in December with brass and percussion were extraordinarily successful, with a marvelous program of contrasting works. The season came to a spectacular conclusion with performances of Bach's St. Matthew Passion A deeply moving performance of Rutter's Requiem was presented in March by the CMS Chorale and members of the Ars Viva Symphony Orchestra. The season came to a spectacular conclusion with performances of Bach's St. Matthew Passion with Kurt R. Hansen as the Evangelist, Peter Van De Graaff as Jesus, soprano Amanda Halgrimson, mezzo-soprano Monika Waekerle, tenor Corey Winter, and bass John Shuffle.
