Alan Heatherington, Music Director and Conductor Audiences were enthralled as we concluded our 3 year cycle of Bruckner's choral works with the F minor Mass. This season brought our three year cycle of Bruckner choral works to a glorious conclusion with the performance of his masterpiece, the F minor Mass. This deeply moving work enthralled audiences, who were also treated to the delightful Haydn Te Deum and the powerful Bruckner Psalm 150. Our Christmas concerts included three concerts at Divine Word Chapel in Techny, while the smaller chorale performed a different program at St. Anne's Church in Barrington. We were most gratified by the turnout at St. Anne's Church, where the Chorale was performing for the first time. The all a-cappella final concerts of the season gave audiences a miniature survey of the history of Italian choral music, beginning with works by the Renaissance masters Palestrina and Rossi and a beautiful four-part mass by Monteverdi; after intermission, two short works by Rossini and Verdi were followed by 20th Century Italian composer Ildebrando Pizzetti's magnificent Requiem.
